The People of SUMC
Sussex United Methodist Church (SUMC) was founded over 100 years ago in Sussex, Wisconsin. Rooted in the Methodist tradition we value the good news of Jesus Christ, social action and responsibility, meaningful worship experiences and a real sense of community. Our mission statement sums this up pretty well. "We are being called to grow with God in a loving, nurturing, open and extended community rooted in Christ."
At SUMC we consider ourselves a church family. Although our "family" is relatively small (about 280 members at present), we have the potential to realize big goals through our commitment to worship, education, service and caring activities.
It's the youth and young families that help bring us together. Our children learn and grow in their faith through Rotation Sunday School from September through May and Vacation Bible School during the summer months. Weekly religious studies are also provided for all ages.
