Offering for World HungerNovember 28th is the Sunday of Thanksgiving week. As Christians, thanksgiving is an attitude that we always have. In this season, as we think of the Pilgrims and how they gave thanks in the early years of our nation’s history. An important way that we can give thanks is by giving an offering to help feed the hungry people of the world. On this Sunday, we will have our special appeal for World Hunger.

KENYA MISSION TRIP
November 14th - 21st
A group of six people will visit students that our congregation support, meet their families, and talk to leaders of the schools they are attending. We hope to visit the main Sudanese refugee camp in northwestern Kenya called, Kukuma. We are also going to be scouting out the possibility of doing a building project in Sudan in the future. On January 9, the southern Sudanese will have a vote to succeed from northern Sudan and become their own country. In this event, there will be much need for Christian mission work. They will need clinics, schools, and churches to be built. I hope that in the future, we will be sending people from our church to go on mission trips to Kenya. Please pray for our group, the Sudanese, and for our congregation as God is calling us to mission.

A Christian music group from Tulsa, Oklahoma will lead all three worship services the weekend of November 20-21 (while Pastor Pedersen is on his mission trip to Kenya). We need 1 or 2 volunteers for each service. Newfire played with FFH at last year’s concert. A free will offering will be collected. Please contact Rob Snyder or the church office if you can volunteer.

“Bless the Lord, 0 my soul, and all this is within me, bless his holy name.”

The Lord blesses us with his goodness. The ultimate blessing is his son, Jesus Christ. We have been blessed with his salvation and life. We are to bless the Lord. God certainly is not dependant on us for anything, but God wants to be in relationship with us. We bless the Lord by giving God our praise and thanks. We bless the Lord with our whole life. It is the Sunday that we will recommit our lives to God in worship and service. You will be receiving a mailing with a Time and Talent Form which also includes a financial faith card. As you receive this mailing, prayerfully consider how you are blessed to be a blessing.
Coats For Kids Drive
The Coats For Kids drive is being held during the month of November. Please donate gently used or new coats, scarves, hats, mittens, boots and snow pants and place them in the donation box by the church office. Stop in at Platteville Cleaners (the top of Main St.) and thank them for volunteering their time and efforts in cleaning the coats for this drive. We need a volunteer or two to take donated coats from our church to the cleaners a couple of times during the month of November. If you can help, please contact Terrie in the church office.
