Amherst Telephone has a new voice mail system. Please review these new instructions to get your greeting set up on the new voice mail system. You will have one week from Monday, February 1, 2010 to complete the setup of your new voice mail box. On Tuesday, February 9, 2010 your new voice mail system will be activated.
You will still have one week from the above date to retrieve your old voice mails off the old system. Any new messages will be delivered into your new voice mail box. Learn More...
Overlay for 715 Area Code - New Additional Area Code 534. The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin approved an overlay of the 715 area code. An overlay is the addition of another area code to the same geographic region as an existing area code. The new additional area code is 534. An overlay does not require customers to change their existing area code.
The new dialing procedure requires callers to dial the 3-digit area code + the 7-digit local number. Effective October 17, 2009 the 10-digit permissive local dialing is available for use. Start of mandatory 10-digit dialing with only 7-digits will read a recording indicating that it is necessary to dial the area code + the 7-digit number and to hang up and dial again. Learn More...
