Our medical staff is comprised of 44 providers -- physicians, psychologists, surgeons, specialists and mid-level providers, including a Nurse Midwife, and 30 consulting physicians and allied health professionals. Customer service is our guiding principle and it begins the moment you call.
While our winter holiday season can be a time of warmth, happiness, and excitement, it can also cause stress, fatigue and even feelings of sadness, especially when we're reminded of loved ones who are no longer with us.
Take these positive steps to reduce your stress.
- Keep a positive attitude...if you can't change your current situation, you can change your reactions to it.
- Accept that there are events you cannot control.
- Identify activities that are relaxing for you, such as walks, sports, meeting with friends, reading for pleasure, listening to music, etc.
- Exercise regularly. Your body can handle stress better when it's fit.
- Eat well-balanced meals.
- Rest and sleep - your body needs time to recover from stressful events.
Watch for signs of depression and if needed, get professional help.
If you are feeling overwhelmed and can't cope, don't ignore what's happening. Talk to your friends, your family, other people you love, and/or your faith leader. Please seek professional help. SCRMC's Behavioral Health staff can be reached by calling 715-483-0243 or 800-828-3627, Ext. 2243.
St. Croix Regional Medical Center has seasonal flu vaccines.
Vaccines are still the best "tools" we have to prevent influenza. SCRMC will begin flu vaccine clinics on October 4. Vaccines are encouraged for all ages, 6 months and older.
Vaccine appointments are available Monday-Saturday during regular clinic hours in St. Croix Falls. Frederic and Unity Community Clinics will have select days. Call
1-800-828-3627 for a vaccine appointment at any of our locations.
The cost for the seasonal flu vaccine is $25 if paid date of service and not billed to insurance.
Remember: Each year, vaccine contains protection from three strains of influenza. This year these strains are two types of Influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2), and Influenza B.
For current and comprehensive information on seasonal influenza, please go to the Polk County Flu website at: www.polkcountyflu.com.
