It may be surprising to learn that much of the research on facial anatomy, facial aging, and facial rejuvenation in the last decade has come out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. John Yousif was the first to describe the association of midface aging with the nasolabial fold, which was published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as the Nasolabial Fold: A Photogrammatic Analysis in 1996.
Dr. Yousif is also credited for originating the Gortex Mid-facelift, a technique he described in publication the Mid-face Sling: A Technique to Rejuvenate the Mid-face. He has successfully performed the Gortex Mid-facelift for the last 10 years. It is intended to lift the cheeks back to their youthful position, restoring the face to its natural youthful look. He continues his studies on the aging face with recent investigation and national presentation on the aging neck and its treatment.
