The 2009 fishing season is here and the RV Charters Fishing Team is looking forward to another outstanding summer of fishing and catching in Algoma Wisconsin.
In 2008 we had really great fishing during the first three months of our fishing season. The Salmon and steelhead showed up in the last week in May and both were biting good for most of May and June. The Steelhead were very active in June because of the cold water which stayed with us till the end of July. Those who fished steelhead in those months were rewarded with full coolers. The King Salmon were biting during those months as well, although somewhat picky. The fishermen that were not on them every day had to do some searching. This did not discourage most charters, there have been more than enough Chinook to go around in the last couple years and it was a nice change of pace to fish steelhead once again.
This was one of the best years for steelhead catches we have had in the last ten years. With the number of salmon being up most charters have been passing on the steelhead unless requested. Size was down slightly but numbers were very good with the average weight of the kings being in the 10-15lb range, large chinook salmon were caught in the mid 20 to upper 20lb range. With the average numbers of fish caught increasing we look forward to some full coolers in 20098.
The fall salmon and brown trout fishing was productive and many of our fishermen found the trophy fish they were looking for. Late August and September were very productive for those in boats and off the pier. For those of you who are able to make it to Algoma in September and early October of 2009 this might be just the chance you've waited for to catch that trophy King Salmon, Steelhead or Brown trout
According to DNR statistics , Algoma was again a leading port for salmon and steelhead in Wisconsin. Such an abundance of fish has translated to great catches for all Algoma fisherman in the last five years.
We still have many prime time dates available. Including weekends in June, July and August. Remember we are fishing during the entire season, we know what it takes to catch fish. Our goal is to make sure you have a fun time fishing.

We currently hold 4 state records out of the port of Algoma. We catch big salmon, steelhead and brown trout, no other port can claim the size fish Algoma catches on a regular basis
We are again offering a Charter for those interested in trying for Trophy Salmon and Brown trout. It is specifically for those who wish to fish the river mouth for the Salmon and Brown trout that are starting to make their spawning run. For many of the fish this is when they are at their peak size and are in their fall colors. Beautiful Brown trout and big Kings are here in September and October.
This trip is 3 hours AM or PM (based on availability)for up to 6 people for $330.00. An outstanding value for those looking for a wall mounter or those just interested in a shorter fishing trip.
