At Holy Redeemer Church, Jesus can be adored in the Most Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Adoration is in the upper church each Wednesday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. At all other times, adoration is in a ground floor chapel. Come and spend time as frequently as you are able to in the presence of our Savior and watch Him transform your life! Our program of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is always in need of new volunteers who are willing to commit to one hour per week (or more) praying with our Lord. For more details please visit the Eucharistic adoration page here.

This is the website of the Cathedral Parish in Madison, Wisconsin.
We use “isthmus catholic” in our address because Madison is the only American city built on an isthmus (...which is, as we all remember from fifth grade, a neck of land between two bodies of water...like Panama).
Madison was founded on a little neck of land between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona. Today the isthmus is just "downtown Madison" – a small but endlessly entertaining part of the whole city, and home of the Cathedral Parish.
In the nineteenth century, when the isthmus contained the entire City of Madison, three parishes to serve local Catholics were built within three blocks of the Capitol Square: St. Raphael Cathedral, Holy Redeemer and St. Patrick.
On July 1, 2008, those three parishes were merged into a single community, which we fondly call “the Cathedral Parish.”
The emphasis is on “parish” because we're sort of "between cathedral buildings" at the moment.
In March 2005, historic St. Raphael Cathedral was destroyed by arson. On June 10, 2007, Bishop Robert Morlino of Madison announced his intention to build a new and larger Cathedral of St. Raphael on the site of the original building. Until that project is completed, the Cathedral Parish will continue to use the facilities of Holy Redeemer and St. Patrick.
Thanks for visiting our website. If this is your first introduction to our parish, we hope that we will see you in person soon.

The Main Event is a thorough study of the Catholic Faith based on the Scriptures and the Compendium, the shorter question-and-answer version of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. In 32 weeks, we will work our way through the Story of the Scriptures and the organic, synthetic presentation of the Catholic faith in the Compendium. In each meeting, there is a presentation on a section of Scripture or the topics covered in one small section of the Compendium, with time for questions and structured small group discussions. Anyone interested in a particular topic is welcome to come for that session only, but many participants do attend regularly.
This Fall we are offering the study of Sacred Scripture using the Great Adventure Bible Study on the Acts of the Apostles. Come and join us!

Have you ever considered whether God might be calling you to the priesthood or religious life? Do you ever wonder what it would be like to consecrate your entire life to serving Christ and His Church? Would you like to meet other men and women who have similar questions? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions then please come and join us for our men's vocation discernment group. Fr. Paul Ugo Arinze, Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Madison will lead the group as they share their vocation stories and insights and try to help answer your questions. The night consists of Eucharistic Adoration, discussion groups, and pizza/social time. For more information please contact the Vocations Office at (608) 821-3095 or vocations@straphael.org.
