All Saints- First Album by Girl Group

All Saints was the first album by All Saints. Melanie Blatt was the co-founder of very popular girl-band of 1990's, together with Shaznay Lewis. This band named All Saints 1.9.7.5., after they considered the name of the street where they met and their years of birth. Melanie Blatt and Shaznay had started off with their career by doing playback singing at Sarm West Studios. Two of their albums were titled Platinum while the other was appreciated to the gold. This girl-band comprising of four girls from Britain and Canada, won a BRIT award and one MTV Music awards as well. Their target audience was not limited to just teenage but even beyond that. This, being their first album won them a lot of recognition and was itself a double hit in UK top charts. In the beginning, the original 3rd member was Simone Rainford with whom Melanie faced conflicts regarding orientation of the band and he left.
Their first album All Saints comprised of singles by the band which had made their way to the top charts in UK and US both. Being double hits in UK their album was certified platinum and the band’s popularity reached its climax. Yet All Saints still had to cover a lot of stairs and unleash a huge fan base. News floated about All Saints being an icon for teenagers yet their fan base expanded even beyond mere teenage class. The new entry in the group i.e. Appleton sisters proved their talent as they had a great unique voice and were able to write sensational yet emotion-translator songs for the then teenage class. The main theme behind their songs was girl-guy relationship and all the stuff related to this feeling called love. They released their second album called, “Saints and Sinners”. It was another platinum album by the band and was a gigantic hit.
All Saints had a third album which was a gold one and was released by London records. This was the time when this Girl Group had started dispersing and scandals were at their peak about them. Melanie and Nichole affairs while Natalie’s teen marriage; were under the criticism which affected their fame and popularity adversely.
Melanie didn’t show up with the All Saints in some public appearances when she became pregnant and left this Girl Group when she gave birth to a daughter. Natalie and Nichole remained together and released their songs. Melanie went solo and released her own album. It was already shelved when the band member reunited in the early 2006.
The album being the gold hit smeared their dismantling and was the last project they did together. One of their public appearances went wilted as people didn’t show up due to hot /humid weather. This band had their fall after an admirable climax. All Saints made their name as Girl Group and earned appreciation more than Spice Girls.
