I'm Pastor Eric Edwards and on behalf of the congregation I'd like to say, we're glad you found us! If you're like most people who are looking for a church, or just doing a little investigating, this is the first place you go.
So now that you're here, let me tell you a little bit about us.
We are a community of believers who gather weekly to be served by God. (You read that right, we are not serving God- He is serving us!) We believe, teach and openly admit that we are the ones in need of service, and that means the forgiveness of our sin. If you ever set foot in our sanctuary, you'll be warmly welcomed by a bunch of sinners who know and trust in Jesus' forgiveness won for all on the cross. This service by God for the forgiveness of our sin through Holy Baptism, the Lord's Supper, and the spoken Word of God is one of the two main elements in our weekly worship services.
The second element is our response to God in our prayers, our singing and our giving. We have been given forgiveness and life through Jesus' death and resurrection, so out of what He has done for us, and in us, we respond in faith toward Him and love for others.
What happens on a Sunday morning or Monday evening carries over into daily lives. We are a community of believers who gathers to be served by God- but then so we may be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to serve others.
What does that look like? Depends on who you are and where God has placed you! If you're a child, to honor your parents. If you're parents, to care for your children's physical, emotional and spiritual needs. If you're an employee, to work as if you were working for God Himself.
Sound impossible? By ourselves it is. But nothing is impossible for God. You may have found us today on the web- but please know this, whether you visit us or not- Jesus Christ is pursuing you, seeking you out. He's not only investigated you, He knows that you need Him and the forgiveness of sin that only He can give.
So investigate away! Our prayer is that if the Holy Spirit doesn't lead you to visit or join us, that you would find a community of believers where Jesus is preached crucified and risen for the forgiveness of our sin!
