Celebrate the Good News – Liturgy of the Word with Children
St. Peter Claver Church offers a Service of the Word for Children at the 10 a.m. Mass on the first and third Sunday of the month, from late September through early June. All children, ages 4 and older, are called forward after the Opening Prayer. The children are led out of church by a Word Facilitator. They gather in the rectory for the Word Service, which includes liturgical responses led by a cantor. The children will return to the assembly before the Liturgy of the Eucharist. All children are welcome!

The annual Grade 8 Candy Sale begins next Wednesday, October 27, 2010! Once again, those delicious SEROOGY candy treats will be available for you to order from any 8th Grade student. Items offered this year include eight varieties of candy bars, homemade fudge trays, and boxed assorted chocolates, all made from the finest ingredients. Those familiar with SEROOGY products attest to the quality, taste and value of these chocolate treats. And, with Thanksgiving, St. Nick’s Day, and Christmas just around the corner, these treats make great “stocking stuffers” and presents for those “hard-to-buy-for” people on your holiday gift list.
Our sale concludes Monday, November 8, 2010. At that time, orders will be processed and your items will be “hand-delivered” to you no later than the end of the third week of November. What could be easier? So, consider placing an order and enjoying delicious SEROOGY candy products! Thank you for your support of this annual endeavor by the 8th Grade class. To place an order, or if you have any questions with regard to this event, please contact any CCA 8th Grade student, or Mr. Beitzel, event coordinator. Proceeds from this fund-raising event help defray graduation expenses.
Help CCA earn points to purchase supplies and equipment by collecting Campbell's Soup labels. Enlist your family, friends and neighbors to join you in collecting. Last year we collected over 16,000 labels, which allowed us to purchase a soft beam for gym class, headphones for music class, calculators and many other supplies. All you need to do is cut out the Campbell's label (including UPC code and Labels for Education emblem) from participating products and drop them off at school or at one of the three churches. Contact Tricia Brickley at 803-0172 with any questions.
Coats for Kids The Christ Child Academy 4th Graders will once again be collecting coats for the 20th Annual Coats for Kids Drive. Any gently used coats, hats, gloves, boots, or scarves can be dropped off in the barrel at the school’s main entrance or in the Immaculate Conception Gathering Space, now through October 30th. What a great way to help those in our community and teach our children the goodness of giving. Thanks for your support!
