WELCOME TO THE READER'S LOFT THE BOOKLOVER'S CHOICE
Take a second to imagine the quintessential bookstore with rows and rows of titles, cozy reading chairs, and even a few resident cats. This is what you'll find when you walk through the doors of The Reader's Loft, a locally owned and staffed independent bookstore by book lovers just like you.
Located in Bellevue, WI, within the shops of London Alley, our independent bookstore features more than 20,000 new and used titles in a 3,300 square-foot space. The antiquated interior and warm, knowledgeable staff will make you feel right at home.
Whether shopping for the perfect gift or simply browsing for your next night stand treasure, stop in today and allow yourself to get lost in the stacks. We are certain you will find exactly what you are looking for, even if it's just a quiet reading corner.
A LOCALLY OWNED, INDEPENDENT BOOKSTORE
The Reader's Loft first opened its doors in 1993 at our original location in downtown De Pere, Wisconsin. The historic, 1,200-square-foot building was a home-away-from-home for our staff and Stan and Ollie, the resident cats.
After more than a decade of success, several big-box bookstores began to arrive in Green Bay, and we felt the pressure of an increasingly competitive local book market. Rising to the challenge, in 2005 we decided to relocate and expand the bookstore. We are happy to report that our dream is still a reality, and The Readers Loft continues to serve local book lovers just like you. Our knowledgeable staff—book lovers each and every one—can still help you find that new title, out-of-print, or favorite used book. We often have more recommendations on titles and authors than you can read in a lifetime.
Our new 3,300-square-foot store is now part of the shops at London Alley, a quaint retail community located in Bellevue, Wisconsin. The large, updated space still feels like home to everyone on staff, including todays resident cats, Bailey and Oliver. To remind us of our roots, we have even incorporated antiques from old-world De Pere and elements of our original store..
The newly expanded space allowed us to create a large section just for children. We also have a special showcase for local artists featuring plenty of gift items including pottery, soy candles, bookmarks, and greeting cards and more.
As always, we continue to proudly support local organizations such as Friends of Brown County Library, One Book, One Community, and Literacy Green Bay.
With all these great reasons to visit, stop and see us at The Readers Loft today to browse, shop, or just hang out.
* The Reader's Loft has put a moratorium on used book purchasing.
