* History Teddy's Place Childcare, Inc. was established in 1984 in Sun Prairie, WI. as a family childcare center by Sharlot Bogart and later expanded into a group center with the capacity of 96 children ages six weeks to twelve years. The center is open Monday through Friday 6:30am to 6:00pm. Nutritious meals are served with the children saying grace at the table.

* Mission Statement "Where Families Grow Together," describes our philosophy of mixed age classrooms, in whichsiblings can often stay together andall children have the opportunity to build self-confidence by being an "older brotheror sister" to smaller children. These experiences contribute to the growth of self-motivated, independent learners.

* Environment This home-like environment includes people as well as materials. Our consistent staff with education from Assistant and Head teacher to Associate and Bachelor's Degreeshave a partnership with Oakwood Village Senior Centerof Madison to create purposeful activities to help children create who they are and with no time-outs and positive communication children canface challenges and change with optimism.

* Positive Learning A preschool program is offered each morning, with an organized curriculum of units. Children learn in different ways and have individual strengths and needs, by exploring a unit in many ways, we provide learning opportunities to suit each child's unique learning style. Units are often grouped together so children can see there are many components to a larger topic.

* Purpose Ourpurpose is to continue to nurture children in a safe, positive, family environment and to help them learn through developmentally appropriate games and play in our large open field and closed in playgrounds as well as our spacious classrooms with lofts.This helpschildren develop a positive self-image, along with the desire to explore, and question the environment around them.

*Parent Group We have a wonderful parent group that works as a partnership with our staff for continual improvement to our program and center.Teddy's Placeholds parent/teacher conferences on a regular basis at approximately six month intervals. Parents are welcome to visit at any time and are encouraged to be involved on field trips and other functions. Being able to see the day to dayactivities and have regular, ongoing two-way communicationhelps families feel secure leaving their children atTeddy's Place, Inc.
