UW-Rock County Graduates
Doug Helmers, a retired teacher from the Janesville School District, first became a student at UW-Rock County in the fall of 1973. “The experiences I had at UW-Rock County were so memorable and it is here that I learned not to be afraid to try new things” said Helmers. “There was a sense of community on the campus; we were all involved and learned the importance of working together as a team.”

His wife, Jane is a retired English as a Second Language teacher from the Janesville School District. She first attended UW-Rock County as a traditional student in 1967. Jane would offer current students this advice, “Get an education, it’s the best gift you can give yourself. I learned so much from UW-Rock County that I still use today.”
