Hair artist, Deb Yoder, owner of A Touch of Heaven, has been doing hair for 22 years and has been proficient with many forms of hair jewelry, hair art, and hair extensions for most of that time. Deb does her extensions using the braiding and sewing method. This method, when done correctly, is the safest way to wear hair extensions while preserving the best condition and promoting continued growth of your own hair.
To find out more about this braiding and sewing method refer to the article “Hair Extensions the Safe Way” at http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip034.htm. (What everyone wants to know!)
There are several factors involved in the total cost of your hair extensions and they vary according to the style and thickness of your own hair, the type of hair you choose to purchase, and the ultimate style you wish to achieve.
The cost involved are:
1) The price of the hair itself which ranges from $230.00 to $450.00 and up (Depending on the hair quality you decide to purchase, and the amount of hair needed to achieve the desired effect). The hair offered by Akinda Magic is in a class by itself and is priced accordingly.
2) The price per row ($65) times the number of rows needed. (This ranges from 2-7 rows depending on the thickness and cut of ones own hair, and the ultimate style desired.) The average number of rows is 3-4.
If braiding and covering the entire head with extension hair is desired, the cost is $65 per hour.
3) The price of the haircut to blend everything together. $50.00
4) If you plan to wear your hair extensions for more than 2 months you need to be able to afford upkeep. In order to prevent damage to your own hair, your extensions need to be tightened every 6-8 weeks and the price per row will be the same as above. The hair itself last for many months often over a year and the haircut has already been shaped.
You will require a consultation with Deb to determine what your needs are and to pinpoint the total cost.
