Fall Cleanup Time!
After weeks of moderate fall temperatures and no rain, late autumn has delivered a flurry of rain and high winds. Most of the beautiful fall leaves are sure to be found in your yard along with sticks and other debris. Call us today to schedule your fall cleanup! Winter Oak Pruning
Winter is a great time to prune your deciduous trees. When a tree is dormant, a certified arborist can easily see the structure, identifying hazardous, cracked, broken or dead limbs and branches. Insects and diseases which could be attracted to open wounds are also dormant, which alleviates the chances of exposure to these pests and the problems they can bring with them. In the case of Oak trees, this timing is essential to prevent the spread of Oak Wilt. Oak Wilt is a disease that can decimate Red Oak populations including red, pin, and black oak. White Oak species- white, swamp white, can also be affected, however, unlike the red oaks which can quickly die, they respond better to treatment options should they become infected.
