Points East Pub, literally built on a wing and a prayer, has now become synonymous with "the best grilled hot wings" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. indeed, people have come from North Carolina, Illinois, Arizona and California because they have heard of our wings.
WE'D LIKE TO THANK ONMILWAUKEE.COM FOR THEIR EDITOR'S CHOICE AS BEST WINGS IN MILWAUKEE.
Please remember that we are a bar. Children are not tolerated as a rule. People hire babysitters so that they can get away from it all. We are not trying to be obnoxious, just showing courtesy to those that don't have children or are trying to have a night away from them. Too many parents let a pool table or video games babysit their kids in the past. A bar is a place for adults...let's keep it that way.
We have been nominated once again as one of the best neighborhood bars at www.wisn.com/alist under nightlife. thank you for your nomination and your votes. 3 years in a row has made us humble and proud at the same time. The staff at Points East Pub thanks you. This is Points East Pub's 9th year in a row for the nomination for best wings and we won in 2007. Ask the Shepherd why they no longer have a best wings category!
We will be discontinuing live music in december 2009. we plan on remodeling the backroom to accomodate a larger kitchen to do a more diverse menu including: homemade soups, salads, fresh fish dishes. The dining hours will be extended on Fridays and Saturdays until 11 p.m. We hope this will be done by Dec. 2010. The dining hours are extended already.
Proprietor, Mark Rasmussen, has accumulated an extensive variety of premium Scotches, Bourbons, and Tequilas- forget the worm, do you really want to pay extra for the meat?

Points East Receives Award for Best Wings!
The bodacious grilled chicken wings at Points East Pub have hordes of young professionals and students descending on the refurbished corner bar on Thursday nights for "40-cent Wing Night". The demand for these crowd-pleasers sometimes brings a 2 hour-long wait—time best spent listening to the killer jukebox and taste-testing the decent selection of beer and the even better list of scotch, bourbon and tequila. Anti-social tendencies preventing you from facing the "weekend starts a day early" crowd? The pub's delicious wings are available every day of the week.

according to alcoholmanac: "you can't have a wing discussion in Milwaukee without having someone recommend Points East. They have been called Milwaukee's Best wingsand they've worked hard to maintain that title. In 2009, Points East sold approximately 70,000 pounds of wings (actually they misprinted the fact, we were directly responsible for over 70,000 chickens being killed just for their wing meat)! Located at 1501 N Jackson st, they keep their wing menu simple and it works. There are no fancy sauces, no jumbo-sized wings and no fiery wing eating challenge. It's only the cook, wings and a grill-the perfect combination to achieve wing perfection! An order of twelve hot wings will run you $9.25 if you choose to eat in-house, $10.95 for a to-go order
"The approach to wings here is different than most and it shows. The wings order takes a minimum of 20-25 minutes to be prepared. Points East starts your wings in the deep fryer, dips them in a homemade sauce and finishes them by slow cooking them on the grill to seal in flavors and give you an amazing and unique wing experience.
"Once the wings are brought out, you can see the difference. You immediately notice the grill marks and crispy skin. Biting into it, you can taste the smoky grilled flavor and feel the crunch from each bite of skin you take. There are no sauces provided and no sauces are needed. The heat is bearable and the flavor abundant, making every bite as enjoyable as the last. Because the wing is grilled there is little mess to clean up and no need for an obscene amount of napkins. You can't beat that!
If you think it doesn't get any better than that, then you should definitely come back on Tuesday or Thursday. Points East puts out a special flavor every Tuesday for their customers. You never know what it's going to be, but flavors in the past have been Chili Ginger, Mole, Thai Curry or Spicy BBQ. Thursday will appeal to even more Milwaukeeans with the classic wing special. You get to try Point East award-winning wings for $.50 a wing if you choose to dine in.
"Points East has wing specials, a grilled wing recipe that has kept Milwaukee talking, six flat screen tv's (we actually have 9) and several awards on their wall to prove they are a place to visit for a great meal and a definite good time!"
