Welcome to THE BLAST Functional Martial Arts and Fitness Academy. We specialize in helping people reach their highest potential. At THE BLAST, we provide adults, kids and families a Vacation From Life through martial arts. We invite you and your friends to experience THE BLAST with a Free Intro Lesson.Our academybrings a new light to martial arts, fitness and self improvement through a wide variety of exciting programs. THE BLAST has everything from classes for 4 year olds interested in learning martial arts to adults training martial arts for fitness, self defense, self confidence and weight loss to 20+ year old Men & Women training to get in the ring for competition. THE BLAST is truly a place where everyone can benefit from one of our programs.
At THE BLAST you will make new friends, be trained and motivated by nationally certified instructors, have a great workout in a team atmosphere, lose weight for a purpose, all while having fun and never getting bored! We provide curriculums and services that help you stay on track.
We teach martial arts as seen on TV channels such as Spike, Versus, Discovery, FSN, Oxygen and MTV. Our martial arts styles include: Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Ground Grappling), Bruce Lees Jeet Kune Do (Street Self Defense) and Mixed Martial Arts (UFC Style). Our next 12 week Bootcamp will start Monday September 13th. Classes will remain the same days and times Mon, Wed and Fri 6pm-6:45pm.

MTK Camp/Newest Black Belt
This past weekend The BLAST held its 3rd Annual Muay Thai Camp and it was again a great success. Mike ‘The Volt’ Vaughn taught an immense number of techniques focusing on knees and kicks and ending with some self defense techniques to mix it up and show how MTK is functional. There was a good turn out with students coming from the BLAST and several schools across WI – Unified Martial Arts in Fon du Lac, Royal Court in Wauwatosa. During the camp, Mike awarded his assistant Muay Thai Instructor, Matt Olson, his black sash! Matt has been training with Mike since The BLAST began 6 years ago and has progressed from student to fighter to instructor. He has been teaching the Phase I MTK class for the last 2 years in addition to improving his techniques and skills. Mike was very proud to promote Matt to black belt level, the first black belt under Mike. If you see Matt, congratulate him on all his hard work and dedication to The BLAST.

Greg Petz TBA Tournament
This is Greg Petz first fight at the TBA Tournament in Iowa this past July. He demonstrated excellent Muay Thai skills and came out on top with this preliminary bout.

THE BLAST will be closed labor day weekend so everyone can enjoy some much needed time off! Academy doors will be close Friday, September 3rd through Monday, September 6th. Classes will resume Tuesday at their normal times.

Josh Prior Level I Instructor MKG
We would like to congratulate our head Kids/JKD Instructor Josh Prior for earning Instructor Level I under Rick Faye’s Minnesota Kali Group International. Last year Josh set goal to become an instructor under the legendary JKD instructor Rick Faye. With hard work and dedication Josh received just that! Congratulations Josh on achieving a well deserved goal!!
When you see Josh around the academy give him a pat on the back for a job well done!
