This practice is devoted exclusively to the field of dentistry known as orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, which is the science and art of straightening misaligned teeth and jaws. Treatment commonly consists of "braces" or other orthodontic appliances. Dr. Wayne Ostdick, along with Laurie, Kim, Jill, Roni, Melanie, and Jeri extend a warm welcome to you!
A specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics is a dentist who has had additional years of training in a university environment beyond dental school. For problems outside our specialty, we will work closely with your family dentist or other dental specialists. Should you not have a family dentist, we will be happy to assist you in selecting one.
Conveniently located in the Sussex, Lannon, Lisbon, Merton area, we always welcome new patients, as well as care for our regular patients. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child first visit an orthodontist by age 7 - or earlier if an orthodontic problem is detected by parents, the family dentist or the child's physician. Dr. Ostdick completed his undergraduate studies at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and received his Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics from Northwestern University in Chicago. He has also lectured in the Department of Orthodontics at Northwesten University Dental School, has served on the Advisory Committee for the Waukesha County Technical College Deptartment of Dental Hygiene, and as a mentor for the Waukesha County Youth Apprenticeship program. He is a member of the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce, the Sussex-Lisbon Area Historical Society, and has served on the board of trustees for the Hamilton Education Foundation. As well as maintaining a private practice, Dr. Ostdick volunteers at the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic and with the Wisconsin Dental Association's Mission of Mercy team.
