to a place like nowhere else you've ever been before.
Since 2001, The Pub has been the place where Irish hospitality meets contemporary American cuisine in a setting that you simply have to see to believe. Located halfway between Milwaukee and Madison and just five minutes north of Highway 94 Exit 282, we are open for dinner every Monday-Saturday. We have always been a smoke-free establishment.
A bit of the Old Country
Proprietors Aelred and Bernie Gannon, who hail from Sligo, have created a truly Irish establishment in the middle of the American Heartland. You'll feel a sense of ease the moment you walk in the door. The setting is warm, comfortable and inviting to the eyes. There are no TVs or video games to distract, and the traditional Irish music is kept at a level that encourages conversation. No one is going to rush you from a table or a spot at the bar.
A bit of the new
Today's Ireland is a long way from the corned beef and boxty most "Irish" restaurants sell. The emphasis now is on fresh, local ingredients and clean flavors. So yes, you'll find Shepherd's Pie and a Lamb Stew, as well as a properly poured pint; our regulars wouldn't do without them. But you'll also find artisan cheese from Ireland and Wisconsin, a constantly changing menu featuring quality meat, poultry and seafood, and a fine selection of wines from around the globe.
A bit of the unexpected
Why did we turn our booths into a replica of downtown Sligo? Why is there a curragh over our tables? How many musical instruments can you find on our walls? If you've never seen the pub, we invite you to look around The Pub on the site. Then come and visit us and see it all for yourself.
We're hoping this isn't the fifth sign of the apocalypse, but we're on Facebook! Check it out, becoma a fan, write on our wall, mop our floors....we're still figuring it out. Join the community.
The Reconstruction is complete! Come on down to downtown Oconomowoc.
We keep an updated map on our FIND US page that shows you how to get here. It's much easier now that the bulldozers and backhoes are gone.
We're Media Celebrities!
Well, maybe not. But 'tis himself gracing the Entree section of the March 11 Journal Sentinel. We were featured in a great little article about Irish food.
